"It's Time To Choose" Feedback

It's time to choose... Who do I want to be? Who am I? For years I have been trying to choose a side. My two worlds will not mash together no matter how badly I want them to. It is time to choose. Who do I want to be? Who am I? There is no turning back.

Please give me some Feedback

Wow this is really deep!

Jack...very nebulous. I like it because its generality allows many people to connect with it.

Since you're having a difficult time coming up with ideas, maybe you can elaborate on your questions in the form of a personal essay. What are the sides? Who are the two worlds? Every good story starts with conflict, and it looks like you have yours. Flesh this out.

I don't know what two worlds he is talking about, but I know what he means. I am a Christian, but I like scifi and fantasy and such. It is kind of hard, because then I have to be 'careful' about what I read and what I write, but I don't like having to censor myself. Sometimes I feel as though someday I am going to have to choose between them, which is going to be very difficult. I understand how you/Jack feel completely. I am also a 'deep thinker' sort of person.

Hannah...interesting dilemma. I had a hard time reading His Dark Materials for much the same reason. Although I loved the books, I was kind of uncomfortable with the anti-Catholicism (and I ain't even Catholic!).

Two pioneers of fantasy, Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, were devout Christians. Their faith, more or less, helped to inform their epic battles of good vs. evil.

Lastly, I like to remember that it's all fantasy and that most people who complain about books like Harry Potter have not actually picked up the books to read them.

Just my 4 cents.
